AMMAN, Sept 9 (NNN-PETRA) – Unemployment rate in Jordan reached 23 percent in the second quarter of 2020, up by 3.8 percent from the same period last year.
In a statement, issued on Tuesday, by the Department of Statistics, the unemployment rate among men reached 21.5 percent, in the second quarter, while among women it was around 28.6 percent.
Among university degree holders, the unemployment rate was 26.6 percent, and around 48.4 percent of the jobless do not have university degrees.
Unemployment rate was the highest in Amman, which was registered at 25.8 percent, while the lowest rate of unemployment was reported in the Karak governorate, where it was 14.7 percent.– NNN-PETRA
