NEW DELHI, Sept 9 (NNN-UNI) – Four people died and five others injured yesterday, after a car collided head-on with a truck, in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, state-run broadcaster, All India Radio (AIR) said.
“The car driver lost control over the vehicle, while trying to avoid a two-wheeler,” the broadcaster said.
The accident took place in Veppur town of Cuddalore district, about 231 km south of Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
The victims include a mother and her two daughters.
According to the broadcaster, the five injured were admitted to a hospital nearby.
Police have registered a case to ascertain the reason behind the collision.
Deadly road accidents are common in India and often caused due to overloading, bad condition of roads and reckless driving.– NNN-UNI
