Myanmar Reports One More COVID-19 Death, Total Cases Rise To 1,319

YANGON, Sept 6 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar reported one more COVID-19 death this morning, bringing the death toll in the country to eight, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.

A 46-year-old patient with underlying Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and diabetes, tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and died of acute respiratory failure, due to pneumonia at 2:55 p.m. local time on the same day, the release said.

This morning, 66 more COVID-19 locally transmitted cases were reported in the country, totalling the number of cases to 1,319 so far, the ministry’s figures showed.

According to the release, the newly confirmed cases are from Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady regions, Rakhine and Kayin states, respectively.

A total of 166,433 samples were tested for COVID-19 so far and 7,766 patients are currently under investigation, the ministry’s figures said.

According to the ministry, 371 patients have recovered from the disease, so far.– NNN-MNA
