KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 (NNN-BERNAMA) — A moderate earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the Banda Sea in Indonesia at 1pm today.
According to a statement from the Malaysia Meteorology Department, the epicentre of the earthquake was at 325 km south of Ambon, Indonesia and its depth was at 217 km.
The earthquake has not posed any tsunami threat to Malaysia, the statement added.
