KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Six new COVID-19 cases were reported today including one case involving MV Glen cluster in Selangor, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said with the development, the overall total COVID-19 cases in Malaysia stands at 9,360 with 153 active cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said from the total new cases, four were import cases, all involving foreigners while two other cases were local transmissions among Malaysians.
“Out of the four import cases, three were from Indonesia and one from Syria.
“For local transmissions, one was from the MV Glen cluster and one more was from screening at the work place in Pahang. The patient did not have any symptoms and had been warded Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital,” he said in a statement today.
Dr Noor Hisham said there were no deaths reported today and the death toll stays at 128.
Meanwhile, he said there were four COVID-19 recovery cases today, taking the cumulative full recovery total to 9,079 cases or 97 per cent of the overall cases.
As at today, four patients are still being treated at intensive care unit with three of them requiring respiratory assistance, he said.
