Sought-After Drug Suspect Killed, Three Thai Policemen Injured In Gunfight

BANGKOK, Sept 1 (NNN-TNA) – Thai police on Monday said, one of Thailand’s most sought after drug dealers, wanted under a Thai court warrant, was killed and three policemen injured, in an exchange of fire in Thailand’s Southern Province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The incident occurred, when a team of police went to a house, with court warrants, for the arrest of drug dealers, Udom Rattanamanee, and his wife Areeya Panthip, on drug charges.

At the house, the police met with Udom’s father, Preecha, and showed him the arrest warrants.

Udom who was on the second floor of the house, suddenly appeared and opened fire with an M16 rifle and an 11mm pistol, straight at the police officers. An exchange of gunfire ensued.

Police said, Udom and Areeya were on police record as major drug dealers in Thailand’s Southern Province of Phuket.– NNN-TNA
