SINGAPORE, Sept 1 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 41 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 56,812.
Of the new cases, seven are imported cases, three are community cases and the rest are linked with the dormitories of foreign workers. 85 percent are imported or linked to known cases or clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing. All the new cases are asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening and surveillance.
Yesterday, 72 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 55,658 have fully recovered and discharged, the ministry said.
There are currently 78 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in critical condition.
Furthermore, 1,049 are being isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
Altogether 27 people have passed away from complications due to the COVID-19 infection.– NNN-CNA
