SANAA, Aug 11 (NNN-SABA) – Torrential rain and flash flood in the Yemeni governorate of Sanaa, destroyed a family home and killed two women, on Monday, residents said.
Five other family members were critically wounded, in the collapse of the house in Manakhah district, about 60 km west of the capital, Sanaa.
Dozens of other houses were damaged in the verdant highland villages of the district.
It was the latest in a series of such accidents across the country, since the rainy season began in Apr.
The rain and floods also damaged most of the roads in several cities.
The UN aid agencies expressed fears of the potential spread of deadly epidemics, including cholera and COVID-19, in the war-ravaged country during the rainy season.– NNN-SABA
