Ceasefire Signatory Armed Group Robs Military Vehicle In Eastern Myanmar

YANGON, Myanmar, Feb 14 (NNN-MNA) – An ethnic armed group of Myanmar, the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), robbed a military vehicle in eastern Shan state.

Members of the RCSS, also known as Shan State Army (SSA), stopped a military vehicle, carrying two commanding officers, between Mongyin and Kengtung, and took away things in the car on Tuesday, the military’s True News team was quoted as saying.

The RCSS is an ethnic armed organisation which signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA) with the government on Oct 15, 2015.

The military said that, the armed group’s robbery is an opposite challenge to the eternal peace, warning that the military will take action, if the armed group does not return their properties.

The Myanmar military announced suspension of all its military actions against armed groups in operation areas in five military command regions for four months, starting from Dec 21, 2018 to Apr 30, 2019, to pave the way for political talks with the non-ceasefire signatory armed groups.– NNN-MNA
