Lorry Bomb Kills Eight Soldiers In Afghanistan’s Eastern Wardak Province

MAIDAN SHAHR, July 21 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Eight soldiers were killed and nine others injured, as a lorry bomb targeted a military convoy in Sayed Abad district, of Afghansitan’s eastern Wardak province, on Monday, Defence Ministry confirmed, in a statement.

“A terrorist, riding an explosive-laden lorry, detonated it next to a convoy of national army, in Jaghato area of Sayed Abad district, this afternoon, killing himself and eight soldiers,” the statement said.

Nine more soldiers were injured in the blast, the statement added.

The statement didn’t accuse any group for the attack.

Taliban militants, who are active in parts of Wardak province, with Maidan Shahr as its capital, 30 km west of Kabul, haven’t commented.– NNN-AGENCIES
