Oman Reports 1,157 New COVID-19 Cases, 66,661 In Total

MUSCAT, July 20 (NNN-ONA) – Oman reported on Sunday, 1,157 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 66,661.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Health reported 10 new deaths from the virus, bringing the death toll in the country to 318.

Meanwhile, 1,232 patients of COVID-19 have recovered, raising the total recoveries to 44,004, the statement said.

“The epidemiological curve of COVID-19 began to spread in Oman, after Apr 5,” Amal Al-Maani, director of the Infection Prevention and Control Department at the Omani Ministry of Health, said.

The health ministry attributed the increase of cases to the lack of diagnostic tests and the delay in diagnosis, Al-Maani noted.– NNN-ONA
