AMMAN, July 14 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan urged all stakeholders to continue supporting the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), to sustain its services for Palestinian refugees.
Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, made the remarks at a meeting in Amman, with Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, where the Jordanian official called for assistance to the UN agency, concerning offering its vital services to refugees, according to a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.
The two sides looked into the outcome of the ministerial conference organised by Jordan and Sweden In June, which resulted in securing 130 million U.S. dollars in financial pledges, in addition to the future steps to build on the results of the international conference and ensure continued financial support to the agency.
He said, Jordan would continue to lobby support for the UN agency, which provides services to Palestinian refugees in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.
