Israel Reports 1,197 New COVID-19 Cases, 37,463 In Total

JERUSALEM, July 12 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel’s Ministry of Health reported 1,197 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday night, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 37,463.

The ministry said, the number of death cases rose from 351 to 354, while the number of patients in serious condition rose from 130 to 134, out of 471 patients currently hospitalised.

It also reported 201 new recoveries, increasing the total recoveries to 18,814, while the number of active cases reached a record high of 18,295.

On Saturday evening, thousands of self-employed people and business owners demonstrated in the coastal city of Tel Aviv, demanding support from the government, following the difficulties they face amid the crisis.

The demonstration was held even though Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Finance Minister, Israel Katz, met with representatives of self-employed and business owners in Jerusalem on Friday, discussing allegations of insufficient government support.

At the meeting, Netanyahu directed the immediate establishment of a forum of roundtables with the representatives in order to resolve the issues that were raised, said a statement released by the prime minister’s office.– NNN-MA’AN
