Pakistan Wants Designation Of Three Indians On UN Terror List: Foreign Ministry

ISLAMABAD, June 25 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan, on Wednesday, expressed the hope that the United Nations would designate three Indian nationals as global terrorists, for their involvement in terrorism in Pakistan.

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan said, “Pakistan proposed the designation of four Indian nationals in 2019, under the United Nations 1267 Sanctions List, namely Venumadhav Dongara, Ajoy Mistry, Gobinda Patnaik, and Angara Appaji.”

“These individuals were financing, sponsoring and organising terrorism inside Pakistan, by providing financial, technical and material support to terrorist groups, including TTP (Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan), Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (the Taliban’s splinter group) and others,” Aisha Farooqui, spokesperson for the Pakistani foreign ministry, said.

Farooqui said, Pakistan is disappointed that its proposal to “designate Venumadhav Dongara as a terrorist has been objected to.”

“Pakistan hopes that the listing requests of three other Indian nationals will be given due consideration by the UNSC 1267 Sanctions Committee, in an objective and transparent manner,” she said.

“Taking advantage of the prolonged conflict in our neighbourhood, India fomented terrorism inside Pakistan, by providing training, financial and material support, to terrorist groups to kill innocent people in Pakistan,” Farooqui said, adding, these Indian nationals are now residing in India with impunity, which “vindicates Pakistan’s position that India is a state-sponsor of terrorism.”– NNN-APP
