Turkey’s COVID-19 Cases Climb By 1,467, 181,298 In Total

ANKARA, June 17 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey reported 1,467 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, making the country’s total diagnosed patients to 181,298, Turkish Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca, said.

Turkey reported 17 more deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 4,842, Koca tweeted.

Some 1,015 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, raising the total recoveries to 153,379 in the country since the outbreak, the minister said.

A total of 732 patients are being treated at intensive care units, and 303 are intubated, according to his figures.

Turkey conducted 46,800 tests for the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests to 2,721,003, Koca said.

Turkey reported the first COVID-19 case in the country on Mar 11, and stepped up for the normalisation process since June 1.

Turkey and China supported each other in the fight against COVID-19. Chinese doctors and medical experts held a video conference with their Turkish counterparts to share China’s experiences in treating coronavirus patients, protecting medical workers, and controlling the spread of the virus.– NNN-ANADOLU
