DAMASCUS, June 7 (NNN-SANA) – At least eight people were killed and seven others wounded, by the explosion of a car bomb, in Syria’s northeastern province of Hasakah on Saturday.
The explosion took place near the silos of the Tal Halaf area, south of the city of Ras al-Ayn in the northwestern countryside of Hasakah.
A day earlier, two children were killed and three people wounded, when a car bomb went off in Ras al-Ayn. The explosion was caused by a booby-trapped taxi cab, which was detonated near the national hospital, on Friday evening.
Ras al-Ayn, in the northwestern countryside of Hasakah province, is under the control of the Turkey-backed rebel groups.
The Turkey-backed rebels used medium and light weapons in their infighting, which also includes detonating car bombs.
Turkey and the Ankara-backed rebels captured slivers of territory in northeastern Syria, following a military campaign launched in Oct, 2019, as Turkey was aiming to quell the influence of the Kurdish-led rebel groups in that area.– NNN-SANA
