KUNDUZ, May 21 (NNN-AGENCIES) – At least six Taliban militants were killed and 10 others wounded as fighter planes bombarded Taliban hideouts in the northern Kunduz province on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement today.
Acting on tip off, the raids, conducted late Wednesday night, the fighter planes threw bombs on the Taliban militants’ hideouts in two restive Imam Sahib and Dasht-e-Archi districts, killing at least six fighters and wounding 10 others, the Ministry of Defence asserted in the statement.
A cache of weapons and ammunition had also been targeted and destroyed in the air raids, according to the statement.
No military personnel or civilians were harmed during the operation, the statement confirmed.
Taliban militants, who have intensified activities in the restive Kunduz province over the past couple of days, have yet to make comment.– NNN-AGENCIES
