Four Hashd Shaabi Members Killed In Daesh Attack In Eastern Iraq

BAGHDAD, May 16 (NNN-NINA) – Four paramilitary Hashd Shaabi members were killed on Friday, in an attack by Daesh militants, in Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala, a provincial police source said.

Last night, Daesh militants attacked Hashd Shaabi outposts, at a village in the north of the provincial capital, Baquba, located some 65 km northeast of the country’s capital Baghdad, Ahmed al-Shimmary, said.

The ensuing clash between the two sides also wounded one Hashd Shaabi member, he said.

Al-Shimmary did not give further details about the Daesh casualties, who withdrew from the area when reinforcements arrived.

Earlier in the day, a police source from Salahudin Province said that, Daesh militants broke into a house in the early hours of the day, in Jillam area, near the city of Samarra, some 120 km north of Baghdad, and shot dead six family members, before burning the house, two cars, and the family’s wheat farm.– NNN-NINA
