ISLAMABAD, Apr 20 (NNN-APP) – The Pakistan army said today that, five terrorists and a soldier were killed, in clashes in the country’s northwest tribal district of North Waziristan.
An army statement said, a group of terrorists carried out raid on a security forces’ check post, 10 kilometres west of Miranshah, North Waziristan.
Security troops effectively engaged the terrorists, and during the exchange of fire, five terrorists and one soldier were killed, while three soldiers got injured, the statement from the army’s media wing, said.
“Troops cordoned off the area and carried out search operation,” the statement said.
Pakistan army said last week that, two soldiers were killed in clashes with the terrorists in two incidents in North Waziristan.
Pakistani militants established hideouts in the country’s tribal areas, but the military cleared most of the areas in major operations.– NNN-APP
