NEW DELHI, Apr 18 (NNN-PTI) – India’s federal health ministry, Friday evening said, the death toll due to COVID-19 in India rose to 452, and the total number of confirmed cases in the country reached 13,835.
“As of 5:00 p.m. (local time) yesterday, 452 deaths related to the virus have been recorded,” read the information released by the ministry.
This is a jump of 15 deaths and an increase of 448 cases since Friday morning, when the number of cases was 13,387 and death toll was 437. The number of active cases in the country is 11,616, says the information.
Friday marked the 24th straight day of the ongoing lock-down across the country, announced by the government.
The lock-down was announced on Mar 25, and has been extended until May 3.– NNN-PTI
