KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (NNN-BERNAMA) — An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit north of the Maluku Sea, 85 kilometres west of Ternate, Indonesia, at 5.03 a.m. today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the earthquake occurred at 1.0 degrees north and 126.7 degrees east, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
There is no threat of a tsunami to Malaysia.
