BEIRUT, Lebanon, Feb 3 (NNN-NNA) – British Middle East Minister, Alistair Burt, said on Saturday, that, his country will continue to support Lebanon, after the formation of the new government.
“The United Kingdom will keep its promises towards Lebanon, by supporting the country on different levels, including security, education and economy,” Burt was quoted as saying in a statement, released by the British Embassy in Lebanon.
Burt said, the new government will have big responsibilities, including the protection of Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and stability.
“Lebanon should also be committed to implementing UN’s Security Council resolutions 1559 and 1701,” he said.
It is time for Lebanon to show seriousness in implementing basic economic reforms, he added.– NNN-NNA
