Russian Energy Minister: “OPEC+” Meeting Is Expected To Be Held Tomorrow

BAGHDAD, Apr 5 (NNN-NINA) – Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Novak, said that, he informed Russian President, Vladimir Putin, about the date of the “OPEC+” meeting.

Novak added that, he told President Putin that the “OPEC+” meeting is expected to be held on the sixth of this April (tomorrow).

The Russian Energy Minister indicated that, he told Putin that oil production should be cut for the next few months, and that it should recover gradually after that.

Saudi Arabia called for an emergency meeting of “OPEC+” countries, in order to find a solution to the global oil price war crisis.

Saudi Arabia indicated that this invitation comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to support global economy, in this exceptional circumstance and in appreciation of the request of the U.S. President, Donald Trump, and the request of friends in the United States.

Earlier last month, OPEC failed to reach an agreement with a number of independent producers, led by Russia, on a new agreement to curb supplies and control prices.– NNN-NINA
