SUVA, Apr 4 (NNN-SPINEWS) – Tropical cyclone Harold, has intensified into a category-two cyclone on Saturday (today), heading towards Vanuatu and will hit Fiji soon.
According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, Vanuatu is currently under a tropical cyclone and severe weather warning. With the current track, tropical cyclone Harold is expected to track to the southwest of the Fiji islands by Wednesday or Thursday next week.
For now, the related trough of low pressure is bringing lots of clouds and showers over the Fiji islands.
For the South Pacific island nations, such as Fiji and Vanuatu, the tropical cyclone season extends between Nov 1 and Apr 30 each year, and the peak period for cyclone is usually from Jan to March. During this season, Fiji has been hit by several tropical cyclones.– NNN-SPINEWS
