Dubai’s Al Ras Area Placed In Total Lock-down, As Covid-19 Outbreak Precaution

DUBAI, Apr 1 (NNN-WAM) – Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, said, there will be restrictions placed throughout the day on the movement of people and traffic, due to the high density of population in the area.

Dubai Health Authority will also make sure that all essential items are supplied to residents during the two-week period. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has also made a number of changes to routes around the area and regular services.

All entrances leading to the area from the three main roads and interchanges, Al Musalla, Al Khaleej, and Baniyas Streets, are closed; three stations on the metro’s green line are also closed, Al Ras, Palm Deira and Baniyas Square – the metro will pass through without stopping at these stations.

Dubai currently has a nightly curfew for residents from 8pm to 6am. The UAE has also decided to shut all malls, in an effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

So far, the country has reported 611 cases and five deaths.– NNN-WAM
