ADEN, Mar 17 (NNN-SABA) – An explosion caused by a roadside bomb killed two children, in Yemen’s southern province of Dhalea on Monday.
“An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded and targeted a motorcycle, carrying two 13-year-old children near the district of Qataba,” a local security official said.
The IED explosion destroyed the motorcycle and instantly left the children killed at the scene, the source said.
Roadside bomb blasts frequently cause casualties among Yemeni people living near areas involved in fighting between the two warring rivals.
The areas in the north and west of Dhalea have been witnessing non-stop fighting between government forces and Houthi fighters for about four years.
Yemen has been plagued by a civil war since the late 2014, after Houthi rebels forced the internationally-recognised government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi into exile.– NNN-SABA
