TRIPOLI, March 4 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The Libyan Cities and Tribes Conference has called for rejecting the militarization of the state and the tribe or one-man rule, stressing the need for building state institutions and ending conflicts.

The conference called for an intra-Libyan dialogue and building state security and military institutions based on professional standards as well as finishing the constitution and respecting the cultural variety in Libya.

It reiterated the need for allowing the IDPs and the Libyans forced to live abroad to return. It also rejected terrorism and supported the UN-backed Government of National Accord as the only legitimate body in Libya.

The conference voiced support for the GNA forces to take control of the entire country and described the attacks on the resources and fortune sources of Libya as criminal.

“We call on the UN Security Council and UNSMIL to names things as they really are and to quit equalizing the attackers and the defenders. We call on the GNA to prosecute the countries supporting Haftar’s war on Tripoli.” — NNN-AGENCIES
