BEIRUT, Mar 4 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanese Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, urged the Higher Relief Committee, for financial support to fighting against COVID-19.
Diab urged the committee to give more than one billion Lebanese pounds (about 660,502 U.S. dollars) to the health ministry, to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Lebanon currently does not have centres to isolate infected people or suspected cases, and it also lacks materials for preventing the spread of the virus.
Earlier in the day, Lebanon’s Health Committee, urged the cabinet to give financial support to the Rafic Hariri Hospital, to enable it to fight effectively against COVID-19, in addition to adopting a unified strategy with the Health Ministry and private hospitals, for this purpose.– NNN-NNA
