DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, Jan 30 (NNN-XINHUA) — Nine people, including five children, died in a traffic accident, in the Darvaz region of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.
According to local media, the tragedy occurred on Tuesday evening, on the Dushanbe-Khorog highway, when a vehicle overturned into the Panj River, after it lost control.
All nine people in the vehicle, including a man, three women and five children, who were relatives, were killed. Their bodies were recovered from the river.
This is not the first deadly traffic accident on the Dushanbe-Khorog highway. In Aug, 2010, eight passengers were killed in a car accident, at the Khoburobot Pass. In Jun, 2016, a de-mining car from a Swiss foundation overturned into the Panj River, killing five of the seven employees in the car.– NNN-XINHUA
