Five Teenagers Drown In Northern Philippine River

MANILA, Mar 1 (NNN-PNA) – Five teenage girls drowned while swimming in a river in Cagayan Province in the northern Philippines on Saturday.

The Cagayan Province information office said, three other teenage girls survived the accident that happened around noon on Saturday, while they were having a picnic in a village called Juaquin dela Cruz.

The victims, ranging from age 13 to 16, are residents of Aparri town, also in Cagayan Province, the report said.

The report added that the survivors, who were taken to a hospital for treatment, said, the accident happened while they were swimming in the river.– NNN-PNA
