KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 29 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysian King Yang di-Pertuan Agong A-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has appointed Muhyiddin Yassin as the eighth prime minister.
“His Majesty has appointed YB Tan Sri Mahiaddin Bin Md Yasin (Muhyiddin) as Prime Minister in line with article 40(2)(a) and article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution,” an Istana Negara (national palace) statement said Saturday.
The statement was issued by the Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin.
