Saudi Arabia Retrieves Soldier Prisoner, Detained By Houthis

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Jan 30 (NNN-SPA) – Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday, the retrieval of a Saudi prisoner of war, who had been detained by the Houthi militia in Yemen.

The spokesperson of the Saudi-led coalition involved in the war in Yemen, Turki Al Maliki, highlighted that, the release of the Saudi soldier, who is in a bad health condition, was a result of joint efforts between the coalition and the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths.

The soldier, Mousa Bin Shoui Awaji, arrived Tuesday evening, at King Salman air base in the capital, Riyadh. In return of the retrieval of the Saudi prisoner, the coalition agreed to release seven Houthi detainees.

The spokesperson said that the Houthi militia is still imprisoning thousands of Yemeni people, including political, social and military leaders.– NNN-SPA
