Second Explosion Occurs In Syria’s Idlib Within Hours

DAMASCUS, Syria, Jan 30 (NNN-SANA) – An explosion occurred Tuesday night, in Syria’s rebel-held northwestern city of Idlib, the second to hit the city in one day, a war monitor reported.

The bombing, believed to be caused by an explosive device, took place at the Jara roundabout in Idlib, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Britain-based watchdog group said, details about the bombing is still “murky.”

Earlier in the day, an explosion targeted a building, taken as a command centre by the al-Qaeda-linked militants in Idlib, causing injuries.

The bombing, believed to have been carried out by a female suicide bomber, targeted a building, where the so-called Salvage Government of the rebels’ Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is located.

The observatory said, there has been a gunfire between the woman and the guards of the building, before the explosion.

The explosions are the latest in a string of bombings taking place in rebel-held areas in northern Syria.

It’s worth noting that Idlib is controlled by the HTS, which is the umbrella group of the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front.– NNN-SANA
