CAIRO, Feb 9 (NNN-MENA) – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry, confirmed in a statement, the death of three Egyptian fishermen, in a recent boat accident, in the Red Sea, near Saudi Arabia’s city of Jeddah.
The Egyptian ministry said, the Saudi fishing boat had six Egyptian fishermen on board, noting, three of them drowned and three others were wounded.
“A representative from the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah was sent to check on the health condition of the injured, during their treatment, until they were discharged from hospital,” said the statement.
A Saudi military official, said that, the fishing boat capsized on Feb 5, because of an explosion of a sea mine, planted by Yemeni Houthi rebels.
On Feb 4, a total of 32 Egyptian fishermen, who were arrested by Houthi coast forces in the Red Sea and detained for two months, were released and sent back to Egypt, aboard an Egyptian air plane.– NNN-MENA
