DHAKA, Feb 6 (NNN-BSS) – Indian Border Security Force (BSF) killed at least 11 Bangladeshi nationals since Dec 25 last year, according to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director (planning), Lieutenant Colonel Syed Ashiqur Rahman.
He said, they continued efforts to stop the killing of Bangladeshi citizens by BSF.
BGB came up with the border death information days after Bangladeshi Foreign Minister, AK Abdul Momen, for the second time since last month, expressed Dhaka’s concern over the killings of Bangladeshis along the border with India by BSF.
The foreign minister said, India repeatedly promised Bangladesh not to use any lethal weapon along frontier, as well as, to bring down border killing death to zero, “but it’s happening.”
A large portion of the Bangladeshi victims are reportedly cattle traders and farmers with land near the border.– NNN-BSS
