MOGADISHU, Feb 3 (NNN-AGENCIES) — An IED attack targeting government officials left two bodyguards dead and a deputy district commissioner in Mogadishu injured.

The deputy DC for Abdinasir Hassan Ali was injured when the vehicle he was travelling in hit a landmine on a road near Hosh market located in Dharkenley district.

Two of his bodyguards were killed following the Saturday deadly explosion which extensively damaged the pick-up truck they were travelling.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the militant group Al-Shabaab has conducted similar attacks targeting government and security officials. — NNN-AGENCIES:
