WASHINGTON, Jan 28 (NNN-Xinhua) — The US military confirmed that a US Air Force aircraft crashed in Afghanistan on Monday.
David Goldfein, chief of staff of the US Air Force, said that an Air Force E-11A Battlefield Airborne Communications Node aircraft went down in territory currently under the Taliban control in Afghanistan.
William Leggett, a spokesman for the US military in Afghanistan, also confirmed the incident, saying the cause of crash is under investigation
“There are no indications the crash was caused by enemy fire,” Leggett said in a statement posted on Twitter.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid reportedly claimed earlier in the day that a US Air Force plane crashed in the Ghazni province in eastern Afghanistan. — NNN-XINHUA
