ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Jan 15 (NNN-WAM) – Saudi Arabia will cut its emission, by using more renewable energy, Saudi Energy Minister, Abdulaziz bin Salman, said Tuesday.
“By 2030, we will be developing our gas resources. We will be quite a big (consumer), in terms of renewable (energy) use,” said the minister, at the Future Sustainability Summit, held in Abu Dhabi.
The minister added that, by using more cleaner resources to generate power, the kingdom will free more oil for export.
Last week, the kingdom launched the third round of its renewable energy programme, which aims to add a total of 1.2 GW of solar photo-voltaic power capacity to the grid.– NNN-WAM
