KUWAIT, Jan 15 (NNN-KUNA) – A workshop, focusing on ways to produce clean fuel from plastic waste, was opened in Kuwait City on Tuesday.
The workshop was jointly held by Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the U.K. Science and Innovation Network.
At the opening ceremony, Samira Omar, director general of KISR, said that, the aim of the workshop is to exchange experiences, on how to generate clean fuel from solid waste and use it as a useful material.
The workshop is expected to help reduce the accumulation of plastic waste, she said, stressing that the institute is keen to achieve the sustainable development goal of Kuwait.
For his part, British Ambassador to Kuwait, Michael Hayward Davenport said, the British government is interested in supporting such activities that enhance research and bilateral partnership, in the field of waste management.– NNN-KUNA
