BEIRUT, Jan 11 (NNN-NNA) – The Lebanese army said, on Friday, that 14 soldiers were injured, in the clashes a day earlier, with protesters, who closed roads in a town north of Tripoli, against increased power rationing.
The soldiers were injured by stones and petrol bombs protesters threw at them.
Around eight were arrested for attacking the army, and the judiciary bodies are investigating the case.
Lack of electricity in Lebanon has been a problem for many years, as the government is incapable of generating the needed amount of power.
Successive governments failed over the years, to build power stations, to solve the electricity problem.– NNN-NNA
