Two illegal immigrants arrested by Labuan marine police

LABUAN, Jan 9 (NNN-BERNAMA) –The Labuan Marine Police arrested two men for not having valid identification documents in an operation near Pulau Kuraman here early yesterday.

Sabah Region 4 Marine Police Commander ACP Mohamad Pajeri Ali said the arrests were made during routine monitoring of waters around Labuan and its borders.

“The PSC 1 Labuan Marine Patrol Patrol, while carrying out the ‘Op Gelora’ operations, stopped a fishing boat off the waters of Pulau Kuraman,” he said.

Mohamad Pajeri said two Filipino men aged 18 and 27 failed to produce their identity documents during the inspection.

Subsequently, a police report was lodged at the Labuan Police Station and the case is being investigated under Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
