HAVANA, Dec 31 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel toured newly inaugurated works in the capital, where the construction and rehabilitation program continues after celebrating the 500th anniversary of its foundation.
President Diaz-Canel begins a tour of works in the capital at the Marcelo Salado Recreational Complex, nestled in Playa municipality, the official Twitter account of Cuban Presidency reported.
Diaz-Canel also visited the Jose Antonio Echeverria Workers’ Social Club, located in Plaza de la Revolución municipality.
Recently, Diaz-Canel led a meeting of the Government Support Group for the capital, which examined the main tasks that Havana residents will face in the coming year.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the main services provided to the population, including the work of Community Services.
As explained, almost all of the equipment donated by Japan, along with others from Austria and China, are already in operation, which creates the necessary conditions to solve the problem of solid waste collection in the city.
Progress is also made in housing construction. At the end of November, 207 spaces had been identified, in 14 municipalities, where more than 1,500 new homes could be built.
On the other hand, the installation of LED street lights continues in the main avenues and streets of the capital.
The head of state pointed out that work must continue in the rest of the municipalities on a series of aspects where there are still issues to be resolved. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
