Pro-Gov’t Forces Shell Houthi-Controlled Sites In Southern Yemen

ADEN, Dec 28 (NNN-SABA) – Joint forces loyal to Yemen’s government, launched an artillery shelling against sites of the Houthi group, in the country’s southern province of Dhalea on Friday.

“A number of artillery shells were fired by the joint pro-government forces, and precisely struck sites controlled by Houthis in the northern outskirts of Dhalea province,” the local security source said.

He said, “Two mid-level military commanders of the Houthis were present, at one of the targeted sites and killed during the shelling.”

Several other members of the Houthi group were either killed or injured, when some shells hit their gathering in the northern part of Dhalea.

In Apr, the Iranian-allied Houthi fighters launched a series of intense armed attacks on the positions of Yemeni government forces and succeeded in seizing the district of Al Husha in the west of Dhalea.

The areas in the north and west of Dhalea, 138 km north of Aden, have been witnessing non-stop fightings between government forces and Houthi fighters for about four years.– NNN-SABA
