Lebanon’s New PM Plans A Government Of Experts

BEIRUT, Dec 21 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanon’s newly-appointed Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, vowed to form a government of experts, to deal with the current economic and political challenges.

“I totally understand the demands of the protesters. I only ask them to give us some time, to form an exceptional government capable of dealing with urgent matters in the country,” Diab was cited as saying.

“We will all work as a team, regardless of our political affiliations,” he said, the government will be formed within a month.

Diab said, he refuses to be labelled as representing Hezbollah or any other political party.

“This government will represent all of Lebanon and we will do our best to hire neutral experts as ministers.”

On Thursday, Diab won the majority of parliamentary votes, to become the new prime minister.

Diab succeeded in securing 69 out of 128 parliamentary votes, to form a new government, which will end 50 days of political stalemate.– NNN-NNA
