Yemeni Houthi-Controlled Court Sentences Four To Death For Allegedly Spying For Saudi Arabia

SANAA, Yemen, Dec 17 (NNN-SABA) – A Houthi rebel-controlled court, in Yemen’s capital Sanaa, on Monday sentenced four men to death, for allegedly spying for Saudi Arabia, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

The defendants, all Yemenis, went on trial in April, in Sanaa, the television said, giving no further details.

There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia, which has been leading an Arab military coalition, in fighting the Iran-allied Houthi rebels in Yemen, since March, 2015, in support of the exiled Yemeni government.

The United Nations is trying to resume peace talks between the Yemeni warring parties, to end the more than four years of war, which has killed tens of thousands of people.– NNN-SABA
