RAMALLAH, Palestine, Dec 12 (NNN-WAFA) – Two Palestinians were injured by Israeli soldiers, at a military checkpoint in the West Bank, Palestinian medical sources said, on Wednesday.
The Israeli soldiers manning a checkpoint along the separation wall, opened fire towards dozens of workers, who were crossing a fence to get to work.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said, its paramedics sent the two injured ones to a hospital in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, for treatment.
On Tuesday, five Palestinian workers were wounded at another military checkpoint, set up along the separation wall, located north of Tulkarem city.
Israel imposed several restrictions on Palestinians, who apply for permits to work in Israel, forcing many to seek job opportunities without acquiring permits from Israeli authorities.
Palestinian sources estimate that, over 30,000 Palestinians work in Israel without permits, often for lower wages, due to economic difficulties in Palestine.– NNN-WAFA
