KUWAIT, Dec 5 (NNN-XINHUA) – Kuwait will develop a new volunteer strategy, to enable youths to fulfil their noble mission, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, director general of Kuwait’s Youth Public Authority (YPA), said.
He made the remarks at a celebration held in Kuwait City, ahead of the International Volunteer Day, which falls on Dec 5 (today).
The strategy aims to provide support and opportunities for young volunteers, who invest their time and efforts to serve the community, he said.
YPA will organise seminars in cooperation with partners, from the public and private sectors of Kuwait, to solicit the opinions of those interested in volunteer work, he noted.
Abdul Rahman Al-Farsi, vice president of Kuwait Voluntary Work Centre, said, the strategy aims to support the positive values of volunteers and finding the best ways to promote their training capabilities.
The strategy also aims to institutionalise the work of volunteers and facilitate their service in society, as volunteer work contributes to achieving equality, solidarity and social integration, he added.– NNN-XINHUA
