MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Nov 30 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Five militants, including a local Taliban commander, Gul Nabi, are confirmed dead, after security forces stormed their hideout in Charbolak district of northern Balkh province on Friday, army spokesman in the northern region, Mohammad Hanif Rezai, said today (Saturday).
Acting on tip-off, the security forces’ artillery, targeted the Taliban group’s hideout in Charbolak, on Friday evening, killing five armed insurgents, including their commander, Gul Nabi, on the spot, the official asserted.
Without providing more details, Rezai stated that the security forces would continue to strike the insurgents elsewhere in the country.
Taliban militants, who are operational in parts of Balkh province with Mazar-i-Sharif as its capital, 305 km north of Kabul, haven’t commented.– NNN-AGENCIES
