Yemeni Gov’t Accuses Houthi Rebels Of Firing Missiles At Cease-Fire Monitor Team In Hodeidah

SANAA, Nov 25 (NNN-SABA) – The Yemeni government accused Houthi rebels of firing ballistic missiles at the headquarters of its cease-fire monitor team, in the south of Hodeidah port city.

In a statement, Yemeni Prime Minister, Maeen Abdulmalik “strongly condemned the attack,” considering it “the rebels’ signal of rejecting peace.”

Earlier in the day, Mohammed Eidah, head of the government team, in the joint cease-fire monitor committee, tweeted that, their headquarters in Mocha district, south of Hodeidah, “came under continuing missile and drone attacks throughout the night.”

There were no reports of casualties, as the government air defence forces had intercepted and destroyed the missiles.

In Oct, the warring parties established joint cease-fire observation sites along Hodeidah’s front-lines and deployed their representatives to monitor the truce, under the supervision of UN mission in the city, as per the Stockholm Agreement they reached in Dec, 2018.– NNN-SABA
