JAKARTA, Nov 23 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian top badminton players who will compete in the Indonesia Masters 2020 next year are, Jonatan Christie, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti, as well as, Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu, media reported.
The international sports event is slated to take place from Jan 14 to 19, at the Istora Senayan sports stadium, in the country’s capital, Jakarta.
Head of the Indonesian Badminton Association, Wiranto, said, world top badminton players will take this opportunity to secure points for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
“This tournament could be made as an event to maximally collect points, ahead of the 2020 Olympics. The world’s top shuttlers will certainly take this opportunity,” he said.
The tournament offers a total prize money of 400,000 U.S. dollars, according to him.– NNN-ANTARA
